How to spend Family Time in Odaiba?

If you don’t know where to go in Tokyo, go to Odaiba.

ODAIBA offers many things to do for ALL AGE GROUPS.

Not just ADULTS, but for KIDS, AND TEENS.

And it’s an EASY access for traveler staying in Tokyo area.

You can SIGHTSEE, ENTERTAIN, SHOP, EAT, and CHILL.

If 1 day is not enough, come back for another day.

I have 9 year old son, who enjoys Odaiba every time we go.

There are so many fun entertainment spot, restaurants and cafe, and shopping spots.

Odaiba is basically an artificial island made by the government, where used to be OCEAN.

ACCESS:

To get there, usually there are 2 ways for transportation.

• YURIKAMOME: It’s a monorail that takes from Shimbashi station and go around the Odaiba area. Say if you are in Ueno area or near the Shmbashi/Ginza Area, it’s easier to take Yurikamome.

• RINKAI LINE: This one is easy for the people who are in the major City like Shibuya, Shinjuku. Then, take the Saikyo line which becomes the Rinkai line after going thru Osaki Station. Tokyo Teleport or Kokusaitenjijo are usually the station that takes you get to the Odaiba area.

Here are some of the options to have fun in Odaiba with kids!

At least, these are the places my son and my family enjoyed together!

Mega Web

This is a space by Toyota. You can see the latest car technology.

Also you can enjoy some events that are always going on.

My son enjoyed riding the Electric car and getting the license.

There is also some event space that currently becoming the Experience space for Paralympic Sport like you can try to shoot basketball hoop with wheel chair.

Lego Discovery Center

Who does not like LEGO?

It’s definitely smaller space than LEGOLAND but it’s enough to spend half day here.

Some rides and open LEGO playing spots.

Beauty is that you will see the entire Tokyo scenery made with lego.

It’s Amazing view.

Team Lab

Make sure you make reservation for tickets!

This is the space the digital and art come together. It’s a new type of attraction. Must try!! Take a lot of photos!!

It’s so much for fun for adults and kids!!

Gundam Base

This may be for the Gundam fans, the Japanese animation.

My son is not so much into it but I was grown up with Gundam, so I enjoyed the most probably.

But my son loved seeing the big GUNDAM statue! It’s Awesome to see the real size version!

There is a store called Gundam Base and you can buy tons of Gundam Goods from T-shirts to Gundam plastic models.

Plastic models are really fun for kids who like CRAFTS. My son at age of 9 was able to make the model.

Miraikan

This is a good “Educational and Fun Spot” for kids and adults.

It’s also called National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation.

This is a fun space that kids can enjoy thru gaming and learn many things about EARTH.

There is a cafe and restaurant as well. It’s not a huge dining space, but the food was really good.

There is a big “digital globe” hanging from the ceiling and I remember we looked at that for a long long time!!

IN SUMMARY,

ODAIBA is great for all age group for a nice 1 day trip for tons of fun and education as well.

There are other things to do besides I list up and I will probably share more later in blog.

These are some places that me, my wife and our 9 year old son went together and enjoyed.

We did not do ALL places in one day.

But for example, you can plan your day like this:

ONE DAY can be like this.

Go to Lego Center in the morning, have some snack. Then, walk to Gundam place and find some restaurants to eat little late Lunch and then shop the Gundam stuff or shop other things in the mall.

Or you can simply replace the Lego Center with Team Lab or Miraikan.

There are always tons of stuff to do and plan to do lots of WALKING.

HAVE FUN!!
