[アメリカ生活] 10歳男子へのプレゼントアイデア
１０歳児男子の流行りもの
アメリカの９歳児に流行っているものを取り上げてから７ヶ月くらい経ち、少しアップデートがありましたので、その情報を載せたいと思います。
ちなみにうちの息子も１０歳（小学校4年生）になり、少しずつですが好きなものが変わってきているような気もしますね。
10 YRS OLD BOY’S TREND
A few updates since I posted the 9 years boy trend .
It’s been about 7 months, and my son also became 10 years old (which is 4th grade at school), and starting to see some new trend.
AMONG US（アマング アス）
最近流行っているゲームのようですが、コンピューターなどからアクセスできます。要は犯人探しのオンラインゲームです。”AMONG US”とは”私たちの中に”という意味なので、まさに私たちの中に犯人がいる！ というゲームです。
何人かのオンライン上にいるメンバーでゲームが始まり、まずはこっそり犯人が選ばれて、その犯人は他の誰かをゲーム中に殺すことができます。犯人以外のメンバーはそれぞれミッションを与えられ、それを他のメンバーとやりながら、殺されないようにするのと、殺人が起きてないかチェックする。そして最後までに犯人を見つけるというのがゲーム内容。途中で皆んなで集まって、オンラインチャットしたりして、犯人を見つける手掛かりを探すこともあり。これは英語でね。
見た目はフォートナイトなどのような今どきの３Dではなく、２Dの昔のゲームのようです。オンラインで皆んなで遊んだり、チャットしたりできるというのが、今のこのコロナ禍で流行る理由なのかも。YOUTUBEで英語のサイトもあったので、これを見てみてください。もちろん、フォートナイトも引き続き流行ってますし、マインクラフトも流行ってます。そのうち、日本バージョンも？？
I think it’s been around, but my son tells me that this is fairly new. It’ trending! you can do it thru computer, and it’s about finding out the Imposter. You get in to the game and members being randomly selected and everyone is given the responsibility and one of it being the imposter, who will try to kill people during the game. Everyone else is doing some mission during the game and the imposter is trying to kill people and everyone is trying to find out who the imposter is.
It’s so unlike 2020, and all is done in 2D format. I am so used to seeing the Fortnite screen with 3D, so this feels quite old. Everyone likes the online game where you can play with others at home, and with this one, you can also chat online with friends as well and maybe that’s part of the reason aas well. Here is the youtube site to give you more context. Off-course, Minecraft, Fortnite are still popular as well.
FITBIT（フィットビット）
最近息子の誕生日があり、これが欲しいと言ってきたのでプレゼントしたものです。フィットビットとはブランド名で、アイウォッチの機能にあるような運動したステップ数や心拍数などが測れるようなスマートウォッチを主に販売している。
正確に言うと息子のものは、フィットビット機種ではなく、BIGGERFIVEというブランドのものである。フィットビットのキッズ機種のデザインが少し子供っぽくて、嫌がったのでBIGGERFIVEを選んだ。もう１０歳だからだろうか。。。値段も安上がりだったし、万歩計や睡眠の質や時間を測定してくれる最低限の機能ありといったところ。アイパッドとリンクさせて親がチェックできたりもする。今のところ問題は特にないので、良い買い物をしたのではないかな。
息子は明らかにコロナの時期で運動不足になっているので、これをつけて１日15000歩を１日の目標にしている。なので、たまに寝る前にドタバタしてゴール達成をしようとすることもある（笑）が、毎日どれぐらい運動しているかが分かるのは実は有り難く、息子の運動するモチベーションにもなっているので、買って良かったと思う。そんなに高くないし、オススメです！ 私も欲しいぐらいですわ。
We recently bought this as a 10 year old Birthday gift. He really wanted this and asked for it. Fitbit is the brand name which makes these smart watch. It’s like I-Watch, but so much cheaper and has just the essential functions that kids need. To be precise, my son’s is not Fitbit, but it’s from the brand called Biggerfive. He said Fitbit one is little too juvenile for him and wanted this Biggerfive version. It’s cheaper than Fitbit and you can do pretty much the same thing. You can check the daily steps, quality of sleeps, and parents can check the status thru linked I-pad/I-phone. So far, it’s been great and feels like a good buy.
My son is definitely going thru a lack of exercise thru covid-19. His goal is 15,000 steps a day. So sometimes, we hear some stepping sounds before he goes to bed to make sure he reaches the goal (LOL) . I think that function has been really good and he also put a wake up alarm and seems to be working well. More than anything, it’s motivating my son to exercise more, which is HUGE. It’s not super expensive, and I highly recommend it! I even want one for me to check my exercise level.
CODING（コーディング）
うちの息子がハマっているのはゲームを作るコーディング。SCRATCHというサイトで無料で作る事ができる。コーディングとは要は指示をコードで細かくリストアップしていく事によって、キャラクターなどがその指示通りの動きをする。そのコーディングを利用して簡単なゲームを作る事ができる。
ゲームのレベルもいろいろあるが、インベーダーゲームやパックマンレベルものであれば、作る事ができる。また、自分のゲームに登場するキャラクターを自分でデザインする事ができるので、自分なりのパックマンも作る事が可能。
コーディングは他のおもちゃなどにも使われている。例えば、レゴ社から出ているもので、自分でレゴを使いロボットをつくり、このコーディング機能を利用して、そのロボットを自分の指示に従って右へ左と動かせたりする（I-padと連動のもと）。なんとなくだが、コーディングはエンジニアへのベースの知識でもあるし、指示を順序だって考えないといけないので、頭を結構使う。なので、任天堂のゲームをやるより多くの時間を子供にやらさせているような気がします。将来はきっとこのコーディングが大事になるのでしょうか。
My son is getting addicted to this coding these days. He is making games thru coding, using the website called Scratch where he can create his game for free. Coding is basically a direction to give to computer and computer will follow the movement according to the directed code. Providing the code, the character will do the move, and you can also create rules or steps to follow. Using the coding, my son has been creating very simple games. The level varies, but you can create games like Invader game or packman level.
Coding is used for other toys as well. For example, there is a Lego Robot with the function and thru I-pad, you can code and move your robot as your code. It’s a great base knowledge into Engineering and you have to think process by process and uses brain quite a bit to think. We let him play more than he would play the Nintendo games, for example for that reason. Is that the future requirement?
PLAYSTATION 5・XBOX SERIES X
プレステ５が１１月１２日に、そしてXBOXは１１月１０日に発売される（まさに今日）。やはり、キッズの中ではそれを狙っている子も多いらしい。完璧にクリスマス商戦にあててきているし、このコロナの中ではゲームは頼りの品。１０歳ともなると少しずつ大人になってきているので、スイッチより興味があるようだ。もうマリオも響かない時が来るのだろうか。 マリオの名前はマリオ・マリオ（ルイージ・マリオ）と言っている時代が終わるのか！？ まだ、うちの１０歳児はスイッチを買ってから2年。まだそこまで欲しそう顔はしていないが、友達の中で誰かがゲットしたら一気に変わるかもしれない。そんな１０歳。
it’s today that XBOX will be launching, and new playstation will be on 11/12. Among my son’s age group, some are talking about these new game. it’s coming a great timing both for Christmas and Covid Stay Home period. Especially, the summer is over and more kids are staying home because of the weather.
At age of 10, it’s starting to change the preference and becoming adult or maybe adult wanna be boy (you know?). Maybe Nintendo Switch is too young for him already? Not sure, but Mario may not have much effect anymore? He has been joking around Mario’s last name is Mario, making his name Mario Mario. That’s over?? We got Switch 2 years ago, but shift is probably coming pretty soon. I think once his good friends get it, then it’s GAME OVER!
